Editorial Project

The project was to choose an article from a list. I chose an article about the human gene. Here is my image.. This is brief. I am a very busy man.

This is the main image for the article.

And these are the spot illustrations to go through the article. I chose the make a kind of unrelated series, these show the short story of a dog (the orange one in the main image), leading up to the main event.

Finished packaging design

Here it is finished! Before christmas I intend to finally get these packages sorted and send them out. FINALLY! Be warned.

My Package

This is the design in process. I am making my own wrapping paper! oooOOOoOOoh! It’s going to be wrapped around a pack of my own work which in due course I will be sending to prospective clients.. Which I will send again and again until they say YES, OLI YES.

The good thing is with this (when it is done) is they don’t even have to open the pack to see my work, there is no way they can’t look at it. Unless it is instantly binned or lost in piles of other brown packages or between now and finishing it I give in to my need to perish.

Under Water Sea Base

Here it is! My underwater sea base. It was supposed to be a poster enticing people to join a Sustainable Development course. But through some complications it is now what it is, my under water sea base.

Eu Sci front cover flop

Front cover design again for EU SCI, this time it wasn’t chosen but still I am proud of what has been created. I mean I would have chosen it, the fools.

This time round the theme was science and crime, so I basically used it as an excuse to draw these spaceship designs I’ve been doodling around with ‘Bunny Shark Ships’. named because…. they look like sharks with bunny ears BAM. Also the scientists with massive guns were a pleasure to draw. That’s the science side, plain and simple then the crime side equally as simple, robbers.

I wanted to play with some narrative once again in this one. This time the robbers have tunnelled out of a bank vault into the waiting ambush of SCIENCE.

Since it’s not going to be printed it’s nice you can rub your eyes on it here on my blog.

Eu Science magazine front cover

FINALLY IN PRINT! Am pretty happy how it came out, nice how the graphic designer used the same blue I used in the little people.. Noticed that today, nice touch graphic manwoman.

Well here it is, touch it, smell it, lick it.

Above The Atmosphere

I joined a recent uni project because I have nothing else to do with my lonely life! We had to set eachother briefs to do.. Become temporary artistic directors! Exciting. My brief was to illustrate this quote

‘Men must rise above the earth – to the top of the atmosphere and beyond, for only thus will he fully understand the world in which he lives.’

Socrates.

This is my response to that quote..

Science And Art

Now I’ve got most of that filth out my head I can begin to do serious things.. This image is a design for the front cover of the Edinburgh Uni Science Magazine in the theme of whether or not Science and Art can work together. Now to colour… Or if they don’t like it, do it all again!

Lost In The Molecules

This is a design for the front cover if Insight magazine that in the end they didn’t choose but when for another one of my designs instead.

But I like this one! Drawn while on a plane that refused to take off and was on the edge of exploding at any second. Stress relief.
